Forensic Case Review
When something doesn’t feel right, we investigate properly.
Most people in an IVA, debt management plan or high-cost credit agreement never receive a truly independent assessment of what really happened.
Speak For You’s Forensic Case Review is a detailed, line-by-line examination of:how your situation was handled, what you were told, and whether the firms involved followed the rules and standards that apply to them.
We don’t take anyone’s word for it. We look at the evidence.
What Our Forensic Case Review Covers
Our review goes far deeper than a quick "check." We examine your documents in detail:
IVA Suitability Analysis Do your documents show that your debts, assets, age and income were properly recorded? Does the paperwork reflect what you were told at the time?
Mis-selling Indicators Were key risks recorded in your documents? Does the paperwork show that risks and processes were properly explained?
Vulnerability Handling Were health, language, age or mental health issues recorded and taken into account in the documentation?
SIP 3 / IVA Protocol & Good Practice Does the documentation show that the IVA provider or introducer followed the standards they are supposed to follow? Does the paperwork show you were given enough information to make an informed choice?
Income & Expenditure Verification Were your living costs recorded accurately? Are the figures in line with the Standard Financial Statement guidelines?
Irresponsible Lending Checks Does the paperwork show that proper checks were carried out at the time?
Creditor Voting & Outcome Review Were creditors given accurate information in the documents? Were any rejections or variations properly recorded and explained?
Fee & Distribution Oversight Do the fees and payments in your documents follow what you were told at the start?
Every case is examined with the care and precision you would normally expect to see in a legal dispute or formal complaint.
Why We Call It “Forensic”
We use the word "forensic" because we follow the evidence: documents, call recordings (where available), emails and messages, timelines, and the rules and standards that should have been followed.
Our job is to help you understand what your documents show and what factual questions may need to be raised with a regulated professional.
Independent. Detailed. Factual.
Speak For You is completely independent from IVA firms, introducers and creditors.
We don't sell IVAs. We don't receive referral fees from insolvency practices.
A Forensic Case Review can help you:
-
Understand what your IVA or debt documents actually say
-
Identify where procedures or standards may not appear to have been followed in the paperwork
-
Prepare your own questions and correspondence for discussion with a regulated professional
-
Understand what factual concerns your documents may raise
We do not recommend any specific debt solution. All regulated matters should be handled by an authorised professional.
Who This Service Is For
A Forensic Case Review is particularly useful if:
-
You feel your IVA or plan was rushed or never properly explained
-
You were vulnerable at the time (health, language barriers, mental health, bereavement, relationship breakdown, etc.)
-
You are of pension age or older, and in a long IVA that may outlast your health or life expectancy
-
Your English is not your first language, and you relied on others to explain things
-
You had new or unstable business income when the IVA was set up
-
You were told a DRO or bankruptcy was not possible, but that doesn't match what you now understand
-
You have a strong feeling that "this was never right" but don't know what your documents show
If any of this sounds familiar, a factual document review can give you clarity about what your paperwork actually shows.
What You Receive
Every Forensic Case Review normally includes:
-
A written Forensic Case Report in plain English
-
A clear timeline of events and key decision points from your documents
-
An explanation of any factual concerns or possible issues we identify in the paperwork
-
A summary of the evidence contained in your documents
-
A summary of what your documents show and what questions you may wish to raise with a regulated professional
Where appropriate, we can also provide:
-
Draft letters and emails you can send to your IVA firm, lender or regulator
-
Signposting to regulated professionals if further action may be appropriate
How the Process Works
Step 1 – Initial Conversation We have a short, structured discussion with you to understand your situation and confirm that a Forensic Case Review is appropriate.
Step 2 – Document Gathering We ask you to send copies of key documents — for example IVA proposals, creditor correspondence, payment schedules, loan agreements, and any complaint responses you have already received.
Step 3 – Forensic Review We examine your documents in detail, cross-checking the paperwork against the applicable standards.
Step 4 – Written Report You receive your written Forensic Case Report, with factual findings and concerns identified in your documents.
Step 5 – Next Steps & Support If you would like to take further action, we can help you organise your documents and signpost you to appropriately authorised professionals.
Fees and Affordability
We know you are already under financial pressure. Our aim is to make this work realistic and affordable.
Fees are agreed in advance, with no surprises. In many cases we work on a fixed-fee or staged-fee basis.
If you genuinely cannot afford our help, we will discuss what is realistically possible before you commit to anything. You will always know what you are paying for and when.
Ready to Talk?
If you think your IVA, DMP or lending paperwork was never properly explained, you don't have to navigate it alone.
